Current students, faculty, and staff can request books and articles from other libraries through interlibrary loan. Manage your interlibrary loan requests by logging into our CMU Interlibrary Loan service, ILLiad. After logging in, you can make New Requests, see your Outstanding Requests, access Received Requests, and manage your account details.
Books loaned by other libraries are mailed to CMU and then checked out to the requestor (you!). Books from Prospector, our regional lending consortium, take 3-5 business days; books from outside that network will take 5-10 business days. Articles and book chapters are usually delivered to your ILL account electronically within 24-hours. You will be notified by email when your items are available for pickup at Tomlinson Library (or our other campuses) or via our electronic delivery system in ILLiad (for articles and book chapters).
CMU's catalog is freely available on the web from any computer, on- and off-campus.
Some of our e-resources are only available to current CMU students, faculty, and staff because we subscribe to those resources. When clicking on links to these resources, you will be prompted to log in in order to authenticate you as a valid user. Log in with the same username and password as you do for other CMU resources like Outlook, D2L, and MavZone.
