Literature Guide

As you begin your investigation of a piece of literature, consider the following components: 

Text Evidence Thesis
What struck you? Pull from the elements of the work: Is your thesis arguable? 
What confused you? plot, character, conflict, setting, narrator, themes Is there significant evidence from the text to support your thesis?
Did you notice any patterns? Pull from the elements of style: Is your thesis specific?
Did you notice irony or other literary devices structure, point of view, diction, syntax, tone, imagery, figurative language Does your thesis contain a unique perspective?
