For works to be considered an OER, it is necessary to distribute them online and permit users to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and distribute the resource.
Many platforms are available to create and distribute OERs online. Here are some examples:

- MERLOT Content Builder
- CMU has also built a site that is available for CMU faculty to upload their OERs. If you initially upload your materials here, you can also submit your materials for inclusion in other site like OER Commons or MERLOT.
