ESSL 290: Hunting & Fishing

Finding Peer Reviewed Primary Literature

For your Science & Management unit discussion, you'll need to find peer-reviewed primary literature on a topic related to hunting and fishing. This guide will help you find articles that are peer-reviewed primary literature.

How to search for peer-reviewed, primary literature:

  1. Select a science database or peer-reviewed journal. A list of useful databases and journals are below.
  2. Enter one or two keywords into the search fields and click "Search."
  3. Filter your results to peer-reviewed articles by selecting the "peer-reviewed" button in your filters (located at the top of the page). If you're searching within a peer-reviewed journal, all your results will be considered peer-reviewed.
  4. Once you pick an article that looks interesting, make sure it's primary literature: you can learn more about how to tell in Identifying Primary Literature.
