The Journal's 116 articles cover a broad spectrum of Western Slope history. Some articles are very specific to a person, place or narrow topic while other articles look at how national issues impacted the Western Slope.
This is not an exhaustive subject index. Instead it can be classified as a major topic index. Each article was skanned for the major topic or topics, people, and places. Subject headings were assigned accordingly. For a few articles a single subject heading covered the article but most were assigned at least two subject headings. There are a total of 185 subject headings used.
